Pulsar, an integrated advertising, marketing and branding agency with offices in RVA, DC, NY, Chicago and LA is seeking a full-time New Businesss Development Account Manager responsible for all agency new business development. Seeking a highly organized, independent, motivated and fearless team member with great writing “chops” with the ability to juggle a myriad of assignments and keep them moving forward on-time.
This is a great opportunity for the right person with sales and/or marketing experience to apply it with an agency that wants to make a difference. Experience in new business or proposal development is a requirement.

Pulsar specializes in providing primarily gov’t and quasi-gov’t agencies with advertising, branding, PR, social/digital/mobile and strategic marketing planning.  This takes the form of converting often-complicated public policies or initiatives into consumer and business-engaging messages, campaigns and tactics.  This is encapsulated in our commitment and agency vision of Doing a World of Good.

Our new business development efforts will continue to maintain our commitment to the government sector, while growing our private industry/corporate client base.

You will be working side-by-side with the Partner in charge of new business and strategic marketing planning – but you will “own” new business. You will be networking, doing strategic thinking, writing proposals, organizing new business meetings, new lead generation and outreach, conducting marketing research, as well as pro-actively marketing and building brand awareness for the agency.

In addition, you'll be a part of the account service team and have an opportunity to work (on a limited basis) on current and prospective clients and participating in marketing brainstorming (because you are a key member of the strategic marketing team).

Vacancy Details

Must haves:

A thick skin, fearless sales/marketing skills, ability to take projects and own/run with them, great organizational skills, excellent writing and editing skills, bachelor’s degree in PR, Advertising, Marketing or Mass Comm (or other appropriate area of study), excellent knowledge of MS Office, preferably with a Mac and exceptional presentation skills.

Ideal haves

Sales/marketing ideas and experience in securing new business in an agency environment, public relations, marketing, social/digital/mobile and desire to be a part of all things marketing (advertising, branding, integrated marketing)
